Can be used dozens of times. Hand wash with Woolite. Do not machine wash. Cool'n Tie is non-toxic, non-allergenic, and needs no refrigeration. Fabrics are not pre-washed for color fastness.
Cool’n Tie Neck Coolers How They WorkCool’n Ties are made of a 100% cotton sleeve of fabric approximately 35-1/2” long and 2-1/2” diameter with an 18 inch pocket holding a high grade, medium size, polymer crystal approved for use by the EPA and OSHA. The Cool’n Tie neck cooler looks like a wrinkled up tie, you can feel the polymer crystals in the pocket of the sleeve. Take your hand and spread the polymer crystals out evenly through out the neck cooler pocket and place in cool water. Let the neck cooler soak in the water for about ½ hour or until the pocketed crystals have absorbed enough water to fill up about ½ the pocket. Remove your neck cooler from the water and squeeze out the excess moisture. Lay your Cool’n Tie neck cooler around your neck and tie loosely. Keep moisture in the fabric, this is key to keeping the cooling effect for hours. Benefits of using your Cool’n Tie Neck Cooler
Think of your Cool’n Tie as a radiator on your neck. As your body temperature warms the polymer gel (water in crystals) the moisture evaporates off pulling the air through the area between the polymer gel cooling like air flowing through the gaps in your cars radiator. As the fabric against your skin warms up roll the sleeve so the fabric against your skin is replaced by the fabric that was cooled by the air being pulled through it. You can feel the coolness immediately. Be sure to splash moisture on the fabric throughout the day; as the moisture dries out of the fabric it will no longer keep cooling you, the moisture is necessary to keep the cooling process working. Be sure to not allow the polymer crystals to absorb too much water and making the pocket with the crystals firm to the touch. You want air flow between the polymer gel crystals. Think of this, when your riding down the rode and you stick your hand out the window you feel the resistance as the air flows around your hand; then when you spread your fingers the air flowing trough your fingers in much cooler than when the air is just flowing around your hand. Well the same is true for your neck cooler, better ait flow through the neck cooler is better than a firm neck cooler where the air has to flow around it. As you go through a day wearing your Cool’n Tie neck cooler your neck cooler will continue to absorb more water each time you splash it. At night hang your Cool’n Tie neck cooler like a wet towel so it can evaporate off shrinking down in size. Given about two weeks, the polymer crystals will dry back to crystals and can be stored till you need it again. Cool’n tie neck coolers are re-useable, to maintain, allow your neck cooler to dry completely. Wash with dish soap or Woolite, rinse well and allow to dry. Repeat if necessary. Do not place in your washer or dryer. You may choose to keep your Cool’n Tie neck cooler in a refrigerator or cooler till you need to use it again, just remember to not leave it soaking in the water; it will continue to grow until it’s as hard as a sausage. The Polymer Crystal we use to make our neck coolers will only absorb water, not chemicals or fertilizers. Neck Coolers are safe for use by a person who has allergies to chemicals and is non-toxic and hypoallergenic. The polymer crystals used in our neck coolers break down into harmless ingredients over time and will not hurt our environment. These are not the same polyacrylamide crystals used in agriculture for soil stabilization, water and fertilizer retention, or used to establish vegetation in arid, desert like conditions or found in your local gardening center. Where can I use my Cool’n Tie neck cooler? Use it for Sports including
Agriculture Industry - Keep your bean walkers and corn tasselling crews cool this summer. Your crews will experience less fatigue and be more aware of the job at hand. Safety with those machete knives is very important and a more aware, alert worker is a safer worker. Cool’n Tie neck coolers are very helpful while bailing hay, riding the tractor or throwing those bails. And don’t forget your wives and helpers hauling grain to and from the fields this fall. Athletes - Athletes and fans alike will enjoy having a Cool’n Tie neck cooer around. Great for moms and dads sitting watching the little league games in that hot sun. We have had several young teams buy matching neck coolers for when the kids come into the dugout between innings to cool them off. Football teams use them at practice when those fall two a day’s start. Other sportsman who may benefit and appreciate the relief a Cool’n tie neck cooler gives would include bicyclists, runners and joggers, race car drivers & those hot fans in the stands, soccer players, all coaches, skeet shooters, horseshoe players and the list goes on. Bird Watchers – I put everyone who enjoys leisure time activities in this category. Sure you can go out bird watching and wear your neck cooler for relief from the heat but if your walking to the neighbors, sitting on the deck with a lemonade, or hanging on the fence watching the girls in the pool next door a Cool’n tie neck cooler will keep you feeling cool and refreshed. And you can look good doing it with a choice from our wide selection of designs. Wear your neck cooler over your shirt collar or under it, I like to tie it loosely and tuck the tails inside my shirt. Be stylin’ and cool! Construction Workers – Roofers, framers, cement workers, road construction crews, heavy equipment operators, ditch diggers, bricklayers, landscapers, all will benefit from using their Cool’n Tie neck coolers. Reduce on the job accidents by having a more alert worker, less likely to overheat. Cool’n Tie neck coolers will reduce heat stress and keep your workers from being distracted by the heat of the day. I have family in the construction and landscaping business in Florida and Arizona. Both of them and their employees swear by their Cool’n Tie neck coolers. Don’t let your roofer overheat standup and fall off the roof keep him from overheating by using a neck cooler. The same is true for the landscapers, one slip with the weed whip and your looking at a few stitches.Elderly & Handicapped – Hot flashes are part of growing older and ladies, having a Cool’n Tie neck cooler handy WILL help when those moments of heat hit. My wife keeps one in the refrigerator so its always ready. When she starts warming up she will rinse a little cool tap water on it and tie it around her neck. No, it does not get rid of the hot flashes, but it sure helps her to feel better. She has even taken it to bed with her and unlike a wet towel the pillow does not get wet. Seniors also are more vulnerable to heat and just wearing around the house will help them feel better. As I mentioned earlier, people with MS, MD, CP, and Diabetes all have problems tolerating heat. I have known friends to pass out, have seizures, and one couldn’t tell me what planet he was on when the heat got him down. Again, it is the cooling down of the blood flow to the head, the help to the body to prevent dehydration, and the reduction of perspiration that all lead you to feeling better and better about yourself. I like to know things work first hand, in fact, we started making these for my husband who gets very serious headaches and is legally blind from diabetes. We have set up at the Iowa State Fair in 100 degree heat and it is amazing, he was not perspiring, his face was not all read, he felt fine and enjoyed himself at the fair. That was until he took it off, within just a few minutes the heat hit him, back on went the Cool’n Tie neck cooler and except for taking it off to splash some water on, he did not go with out a Cool’n Tie neck cooler for the rest of the fair. Now he can go our and mow the lawn, take his scooter and go down to the store, or sit on the patio and not feel overheated. Fire Fighters & Emergency workers & Our Armed Services – As you search the web for information on neck cooler you will find that there are several military support groups that are making their version of neck coolers. These groups have even posted instructions to help you make them for your soldiers. This is a terrific effort to our soldiers overseas. Stationed in hot, desert climates and wearing body armed these soldiers, America’s Bravest, do need as many neck coolers as we, Americans can provide. They are invaluable for relief from the heat. Temperatures reaching 130 degrees lead to dehydration, the neck coolers reduce dehydration. They become overheated and fatigued, with the help of neck coolers soldiers are more alert, not distracted by the stress of being overheated. The same holds true for our fireman and emergency workers everywhere. We have known of fire companies who use the neck coolers at the fire scene. Several smaller departments that I am aware of, have, at the scene of the fire used wet towels on their crews to cool them down on breaks from firefighting. What happens is that these how, exhausted firemen end up soaking wet from the sweat and the cold wet towels. They then put back on their protective gear and return to their firefighting duties. But, because of the wetness and the heat it again becomes a sauna inside their suits, they become fatigued, overheated, and more at risk for accidents to happen. If neck coolers were to be provided for the fireman they would get that same quick relief of a cold compress on their neck and the gratification of the relief given by cooling down the blood flow to their head, reduce perspiration, and not be all wet and distracted by heat when they return to fighting the fires. Have you watched the evening news of the firefighters fighting the wild fires in California? Several that were shown on TV were wearing neck coolers. We have also seen work crews at area race track wear them as well as the ambulance crews at the tracks. At our State Fair and other summer festivals we have provided neck coolers to many of the volunteers. Gardeners & Horticulturists – While gardening, working on the yard, or pruning those rose bushes a neck cooler will feel great and work to keep you cool. A neck cooler will keep the sun off the back of your neck; you are less likely to become dehydrated. A little breeze as you move around the yard mowing and you’ll notice the “radiator effect” air conditioning your neck.Outdoor concert goers – What would Woodstock have been like if there were neck coolers? Imagine a half a million people sitting in the sun enjoying some great music and being cooled by their neck coolers. At Woodstock or any modern day venue you always hear about some cases of overheating, exhaustion, people needing medical attention from heat stroke. Don’t become parts of the statistics; wear your Cool’n Tie neck cooler to your next outdoor event. Something I have learned is that if I take and freeze a water bottle before I leave for the concert, ballpark or races I can drizzle the cool water on it as the neck cooler dries up. I don’t have to leave my seat and oh, the gratification that comes with a cold splash of water on a warm body! Sportsman & Sports Fans - It is really simple stay comfortable and stay safe. By using your neck cooler while boating, hunting, fishing, watching a baseball game or soccer match; at any level it is much more enjoyable when you are not dehydrated, perspiring heavily, feeling overheated and fatigued, flush, miserable in the sun. Yes put on your hat; sit in the shade when possible but that cool refreshing feeling of a neck cooler around your neck will make the activity much more enjoyable. Transportation workers – We have sold our neck cooling Cool’n Ties to over the road truck drivers, delivery drivers, shuttle drivers at the State Fair, flagmen and construction workers in construction zones on the highway, bus drivers, yes even highway patrol officers have found the use of neck coolers to prevent then from feeling overheated and flush, they perspire less and are more alert. And as a result of using the neck cooler they are safer on the job. A personal experience, while traveling to Oklahoma City a couple years ago for a summer show our air conditioning in our van went out. The heat was over 100 degrees in the shade, we opened the windows and threw on our Cool’n Tie neck coolers and the breeze blowing through the neck cooler made the skin on our necks actually feel cold. We did not feel overheated, did not get dehydrated, and definitely not overheated when we arrived in Oklahoma City.Physical Exercise Therapists – While rehabbing from a hip replacement surgery my husband found that wearing the Cool’n Tie neck cooler helped his stamina. Neck coolers are not new to those who work out and read fitness magazines. Neck coolers have been mentioned and sold, for very high prices, through workout magazines for close to 30 years. Body builders, weight lifters, treadmill users, rock climbers, any physical activity, make a neck cooler part of your cool down today. In physical therapy rooms all over the country, from nursing homes and senior citizens centers, aerobics, dance and even swimming pool therapies are finding a little more energy, digging a little deeper by using their neck coolers to keep the blood flow to the head from overheating, reducing stress, reduce headache pain, and allow for better brain function. The more aware of what you are able to accomplish the faster and better the rehabilitation process goes. And remember it is just as important to cool down after a therapeutic walk as it is to run a mile. Remember these points and I believe you will find that a Cool’n Tie neck cooler will benefit your life in some way by using it. Cool’n Tie neck coolers are easy to prepare for use, easy to maintain while using them and can be washed. Next time you are perspiring, feeling overheated, flushed, light headed, dehydrated, have a headache from the heat, smack your self on the head and head to the computer to order a Cool’n Tie neck cooler. What you are experiencing is so easy to prevent, order your today. And STAY COOL!
